Blueprint digital platform preview" />The Penn State Worry Questionnaire (PSWQ) looks at how much people worry. Worry is usually considered a dominant feature of generalized anxiety disorder (GAD) and this measure can be helpful in differentiating GAD from other anxiety disorders.
Answers are scored on a 5-point Likert scale from 1 for "Not at all typical of me" to 5 for "Very typical of me." Questions #1, 3, 8, 10, and 11 are reverse scored. Scores are summed and total scores range from 16 to 80. Higher scores are associated with higher amounts of worry.
The PSWQ has proven to have good internal consistency and test-retest reliability (Meyer et al., 1990).
